Subhan Hameed began his journey with DFN Project SEARCH in August 2021, during a challenging period marked by Covid-19 restrictions. Despite these circumstances, he adapted quickly to a blended learning approach that combined college attendance with online classes. His proficiency with Microsoft Teams and commitment to learning set a strong foundation for success.

In November 2021, Subhan transitioned to on-site training at University Hospital Wishaw and eagerly commenced his first rotation as a Catering Assistant. His exceptional work ethic and reliability earned praise from the entire kitchen team.
For his second rotation, Subhan joined the Clinical Laboratories as a Medical Laboratory Assistant, where he excelled and impressed colleagues with his technical skills and professionalism. This outstanding performance led to his employment shortly after graduation. On 22 November 2022, Subhan began working full-time as a Band 2 Medical Laboratory Assistant, contributing 37 hours per week to the department.
Subhan’s career has continued to progress. He is now a Band 3 Medical Laboratory Assistant, actively training new staff in blood sample processing and serving as a mentor to DFN Project SEARCH students—demonstrating both leadership and expertise.
Beyond his professional achievements, Subhan has celebrated significant personal milestones. He married his beautiful wife Talala Tamsal, passed his driving test, purchased a new car, and recently bought his first home. Looking ahead, Subhan is excited to welcome his first child in March 2026.
