We campaign and advocate for young people with a learning disability, who are autistic, or both. We believe that every young person with a learning disability who wants to work should have a clear, supported pathway into meaningful paid employment. We believe in their right to build a career and lead independent lives.
Through our campaigning, we raise awareness of the barriers faced by young people we serve, while championing supported internships as a proven pathway into meaningful employment.
National Supported Internship Day
As the founders of National Supported Internship Day (NSID), we created and launched the initiative in 2023 to establish a national celebration of supported internships across the UK. We believe in the life-changing impact of supported internships – and we want everyone to get involved.
Held annually on the 27th March, the aim of National Supported Internship Day is to raise awareness of supported internships and to overcome the challenges facing our sector.
Each year, we coordinate a series of activities to amplify youth voice, lived experience and provide opportunities that make lasting social change. This includes our Youth Parliament, where young people come together in the House of Commons to share their voices and advocate for wider provision of supported internships.
