Charlie Ellerton

After completion of his DFN Project SEARCH year based at Culzean Castle Country Estate, Charlie was successful in securing a Modern Apprenticeship as a Health and Wellbeing Worker with South Ayrshire Council.

When Charlie came to the end of his Modern Apprenticeship, he applied for a full-time paid position as Activities Assistant with South Ayrshire Council’s Thriving Communities based at their outdoor residential centre: Dolphin House; which like Project SEARCH, sits within the grounds of Culzean Castle Country Estate.

In his role, Charlie enjoys the busy schedule of assisting centre staff to ensure all visitors enjoy their time at the centre. He also is assisting with supporting interns who are on placement at the centre – giving Charlie the opportunity to showcase the expertise and knowledge he has gained in his role.

When he isn’t at work, Charlie likes to keep himself busy as an active member of Carrick Rugby Club – not only as a player, but also in the running of the club and their community activities.

Charlie was recently voted in as Treasurer for The Carrick Round Table where he is an active member in all business, including their many charity fundraising events.

Despite his very busy schedule, Charlie somehow managed to find the time to pass his driving test which will assist Charlie in getting around to his many activities with greater ease in the future!
